Sittin' Pretty

I am getting really good at sitting up... its great excercise too! This is a picture of me playing with my daddy. He holds my hands and I just sit and stare and coo at him. I really like looking at my toes too, I think they are facinating!

Go Fish!

Yesterday I got to go to practice with Mommy and see her swimmers. Do you like my orange and blue shirt? I like it when I get to spend time with mommy! After practice we came home and took a nap, waited for daddy to come, ate lunch and then the whole family took a nap (can you tell how much I wear them out?). Then mommy had to go back to the pool for the swim meet against Ferguson (they almost won) and I got to go visit later in the evening. I can't wait til I'm big enough to be on the swim team too!

Giddy Up!

On tuesday mommy and I met up with some friends for lunch and a trip to Faust Park. My favorite part was riding the carousel with my new friend Gabriel. We both sat on the same horse for a bit and said "Giddy Up Horsey"... well, you can imagine us saying that anyway. Mommy had fun because she got to chat with some of her good friends from high school... Hannah, Eileen and Amanda. Next time we go to that park we may get to see some butterflies!

Who is that baby in the mirror?

When Corrina told me how much Maggie loved her kick and play were we excited to get one, but mommy never guessed how much fun I would have in it. She caught a good picture of me in the mirror... sometimes I hit the fish by accident and I'm almost ready to kick at the ball... it won't be long. Every baby should have one of these!!

Hole in one club

Last night we went to play Mini golf with Aunt Holly and her friend Mark. I got to ride along and play on mommy's team. Both mommy and daddy got a hole in one! You'll never guess who won... that's right... my very first time playing mini golf I beat daddy. Most of the credit goes to mommy for playing one handed most of the time, but I like to think I helped. Holly and Mark deemed themselves the hole in 5 club... they think they are so funny!

The next gerber baby!

One of my favorite places in the house is my changing table. After getting all clean and dry I just love to lay there and coo and smile for a bit. Mommy took lots of pictures of my smiling and licking my fists (they are my new favorite toy).

Happy Father's Day

Today was the very first official father's day at the Olson house. Daddy got to open presents before church, then it was a trip to his favorite mexican restaurant Las Palmas for some tasty salsa. Here is a picture of daddy and his new hat spending some time with the little guy.

So Big!

Asher went to see the Pediatrician today and got his new measurements. He is now 14 lbs. 8 oz. and is a whopping 24 inches long (that's 4 inches longer than at his 1 week checkup). That puts him in the 99th percentile for weight... what a big growing boy! He was very brave when he got all of his shots and only cried a little bit.

Squeeky clean!

Today was a good day to rest and recover. Aunt Holly helped give me a bath and put new batteries in my swing. I took lots of naps and was happy to see my daddy when he got home from his trip.

Fish Party

Yesterday was the Kick Off Party for mommy's swim team and I got to go! They had a BBQ at Bangert Park and there was even a pinata. (I'm a little too young to swing the bat though... maybe next year). It was a very busy day because I got to help them shop during the day and even got to stay up a little late. Aunt Holly dressed me in a fish shirt that says "Daddy's little squirt"... isn't that the truth!

Big Day

Today was a fun day for little Asher. First he got to spend some quality "dad time" while mommy was at swim practice, then in the afternoon mommy and daddy rearranged the furniture in his room, made a special place for his stuffed animals and put together a brand new toy. Asher likes to lay underneath the activity center and look at the bright fishies and swing his arms to try and hit them. After dinner we went on a long walk with our friend Chris and tuckered ourselves out. Who said mondays couldn't be fun?

Uncle Ryan and Aunt Candace

On June 10th we visited the Olson family in Dallas City, IL (affectionately called "Olsonville") for Uncle Ryan and soon-to-be Aunt Candace's wedding shower. I hadn't seen then since I was a newborn, so it was a very fun trip.

Lions and Tigers and Bears... oh my!

Friday was my first trip to the St. Louis Zoo. We met our friends Rhonda, Ezra, Eli, Thaddeus, Solomon, Christi and Caroline for lunch and a quick tour of the zoo. We saw some zebras, giraffes, sun bears, a jaguar, frogs and monkeys. It was a fun afternoon, but boy were we tired when we got home! Mommy can't wait until I'm old enough to do the other fun things at the zoo like ride the train.

New Busch Stadium

On May 29th we got our first look at the New Busch Stadium. We had seats in the very top row, but the view was still great and there was even a breeze. It was the first day they opened up the left field pavillion section so we were the first people to sit in those seats. The Cardinals won 3-1 (we must be good luck) and we found the brick that has our names and anniversary date that is part of the walkway around the stadium.

My First Cardinals Game

On May 21st I went to my first Cardinals baseball game. We had to go all the way to Kansas City because its hard to get tickets in St. Louis. We went to the game with mommy and daddy's friends Mike and Corrina and their daughter Maggie. It was a great day because the Cardinals won 10-3 and we saw Albert Pujols hit his 22nd home run of the season.

Hooray for Aunt Holly

On May 13th, 2006 Holly graduated with a B.S. in Accounting from Truman State University. Grandpa Jerry (Jenoa's Dad) and Aunt Jo were there from Washington DC, Great Grandma Charity and Great Grandpa Harry, Grandma Mary and the Olsons were all there to cheer her on as she walked across the stage. Even though Asher slept through the whole thing, we know he was cheering for her just the same.

Tigger

Asher loves bathtime (he was meant to be in the water). Here he is dressed in his cute Tigger robe... watch out or you may get bounced!

Grandma's are the best!

Asher is very lucky that he has two of the best Grandmas! Grandma Mary was there to see him when he was born, and Grandma Hope was able to come down just a few days later.

Asher Ryan Joins our Family

Asher Ryan Olson joined our family on April 5, 2006. Mommy had a pretty easy labor and Asher was born at 1:24 pm (just one minute past being born at 1:23 on 4/5/06). He weighed 8lbs. 14 oz. and was 22 inches long.
