Labor Day

On Labor Day we spent a fun, relaxing day with some friends at Creve Coeur Park. We played wiffleball, rode bikes, and threw rocks into the lake (one of Asher's favorites). We also BBQed and played on the playground (Tessa- we found out there is a splash park near us!)

Harvest Fest

Saturday while my cousins were here we spent the morning at the Hazelwood Harvest Fest. It was a really fun morning and there were LOTS of free things for little guys like me to do! The morning started off with a parade... I took my lunchbox and got lots of bubble gum and tootsie rolls! :) Our neighbor John is the drum major closest to you in the picture! Asher loves to see firetrucks, but doesn't like the noise!

There was a really neat H2Orchestra exhibit where all the instruments used water to make their sounds. This was a water piano.

Autographs

Asher got his very first Cardinals autographs from Matt Holliday and Rick Ankiel this week! He has signed baseball cards for his 'baseball room'. We waited in line for a little over 2 hours.. but he was a great sport!

Cardinals Game

So once again I have Cardinals' pictures to post! Our friends at church asked if we had season tickets... sadly no, we managed a Pujols pack this year with 6 sunday afternoon games and a friday night game on our Anniversary. So, this may be Asher's last game of the season... Grandma and Aunt Holly came along (Grandma had company seats WAY lower than our nosebleed seats, so after the 5th inning we went down to visit). Sadly we didn't make it in time to get an Adam Wainwright bobble head... we were even there 35 minutes before game time! We at least got a few post-game win fireworks though... we had bad luck with the Cardinals winning friday and saturday and then dropping the sunday game.

Asher's favorite question this time was "who's on deck?"... he is very inquisitive in his "3s". He also is now learning the base coaches and bullpen pitcher's jersey numbers. If he ever asks you what your number is, he wants to know how old you are... I think he thinks thats what it means. It will be interesting when he and Yadi are both 4 next year! :)

Go Fish Guys!

Last sunday we got to see one of Asher's favorite music groups in concert! He's been singing their songs since he turned one (when mommy first heard them at a Hearts at Home conference). They are a group of dads who sing awesome accapella christian music for kids! Some of Asher's favorite friend's from church went too! (Thanks Ms. Rhonda for getting the wrist bands for us!). They started the concert by announcing "to all you dads who might have been brought against your will... be prepared to be pleasantly surprised... HA!!! (and I think they were).

A boy's best friend!

Have I mentioned that we are really blessed to have such patient and tolerable animals? Tag sleeps in Asher's room and they are pretty good buddies! Asher is getting better at holding her leash on walks, and Tag will even drop the tennis ball for him sometimes.

Tessa's House

Last weekend we took the new car to Chicago to see Tessa and her new puppies (and Aunt Candace and Uncle Ryan too!). They have 5 week old lab puppies and they are SO cute. The were big enough to wag their tails and try to climb out of the laundry basket, but still small enough to hold and not TOO excitable. Asher did a GREAT job being gentle with them. He still talks about his favorite "clover" and how her mommy is coming back for her (she is already sold).While he was there, daddy helped Uncle Ryan paint their downstairs. They are finishing their basement. We'll most likely get to stay down in the new room next time we visit since they are getting a nursery ready for Tessa to have a new little brother or sister (just like me!). We were very helpful! After painting we had a picnic lunch at the "splash park". It has a bunch of fountains and sprayers, and buckets that fill and tip over. It was perfect for little people like us...

Then it was naptime and time to hold some more puppies!

We had SO much fun!! I wish Tessa and I lived closer! We make a good team... I keep her up late at night, and she wakes me up at morning and naptime... great for playtime, bad for tired mommies.. LOL! We also tried a new pizza place (for us anyway). We are usually HUGE fans of Lou Malnati's but we decided to try Gino's East this time. We actually weren't very impressed... any Chicago pizza officianato's out there have any comments??
