Georgia Vacation - Day One

We had a great time on our family vacation this week to Savannah, GA. It's alot to blog in one sitting, so I think I'll break it up by days (just to keep you in suspense and all).

Monday morning we woke up bright and early (ok, it was still way too dark to be bright) but Asher did GREAT for being up at 4:00am. Here he is hamming it up in line at the airport... It was still dark at take-off time.... but still smilin' Its always sunny at 20,000+ ft! We flew to Atlanta and rented a car to get to Savannah... Asher was still doing well with all the traveling!

After we arrived at our hotel we decided to head to downtown Savannah to check it out and make a game plan for our few days there... this a picture from the bridge over the Savannah river. The weather was great all week for us! After a brief nap while mommy and daddy were touring the town we checked out a local pizza place for dinner. I got to experience pinball :) Time for a swim in the hotel pool! :) My swimmin' buddy!

There is day one for you... the airplane trip, car trip, then relaxin' and regroupin'. Stay tuned for day two (it involves a cute 3 year old's trip to the beach!).

Welcome Baby Kai!

Alena is officially a big sister! Kai Hwande joined us on Thursday, May 14th at 9:55am. He was 8lbs. 14oz. and 21 1/3 inches. He is adorable!!!

(P.S. How many of you read this blog and failed to tell me I called Alena big brother?? This thinking for two is hard... help me out a little!)

Mommy and Me Day

Last week mommy and I took a trip to the Zoo, just the two of us! It had been awhile since we were free to be spontaneous and go do something...

Do you see what I see? :) Aunt Ginny let me borrow these really fun kids binoculars! They were great to see the ant eater and elephants! The hippos were very fun today, this one kept swimming right by the glass... Asher keeps talking about the hippos! Riding the train! Walking with my apple snack! Giraffes are always a favorite...

I spy a Zebra! Whew... after all that I needed a drink and a nap!! :)

Kid's Camp

Last weekend was my first time as a camper at Church Camp! It was a weekend retreat for the wednesday night kids program and mommy and daddy offered to help in the kitchen. These are my other camp buddies... Lydia and J.J. -- my two favorite friends!

Miss Beth was my teacher for the weekend.... she planned lots of really fun stuff for us to do!!

I see a monkey (three monkeys) jumping on the bed! I had my first PJ party with my friends! Finding out which bed is Aunt Holly's! I had a blast at camp... I was exhausted by sunday, but it was a great weekend!

Kid's Festival

The Valley of Flowers also had a Kid's Festival at the J.J. Eagan center...

"Carnibal"

Last weekend was the annual Valley of Flowers festival in Florissant. This year they added a 'family night' (to keep the teenagers away) so we ventured up with our neighbors. It was actually ALOT of fun and once Asher had some friends to do the rides with him he was very excited. His favorite thing to do was play the games (which are more expensive... and a little tough for a toddler)... I guess its that competative nature he gets from Daddy.... oops, I mean mommy! Grandma won me a blue monkey playing the horse racing game! Look how tall I am!!!

.31 scoop night

Wednesday night was .31 cent scoop night, so we stopped at Baskin Robbins... the lines were SO long that we decided we could spring for Fritz's :). But we got to see a Florissant Valley Fire Truck... it was really bright and shiny!
